Chaisa Community School 1×3

Chaisa primary school it is found in the remote area of Northern province , Kasama District.

Currently, Chaisa has 305 pupils and run from preschool to grade 7. The nearest school is 7 kilometres away.

Chaisa like many rural school’s in the area lack classroom space for students.  Teachers often will teach outside in makeshift classrooms the best they can.  Unfortunately between lengthy rainy seasons this often reduces the number of feasible days of learning each year.  Often parents may prefer to keep students at home working when there isn’t an actual structure for their children to learn in.

In July 2024 a group of ZSF volunteer’s from the USA visited Chaisa for it’s official school handover ceremony.  Such handover ceremonies from ZSF make the regional ZSF news.  The National level provincial minister attends with other high ranking regional officials, village heads, and all community members.  The government, community, and students appreciation and gratitude are huge.  They expressed how the small poor rural community never thought they would ever see a needed school house built in their life times, but thanks to ZSF they are full of excitement.  Every community member, old and young, with and without kids has participated to help the building of this school and others like it.
