High School Scholarships
Give a child the chance to a meaningful future
by sending them to school.
If you can afford the uniform, Elementary school is free in Zambia. Grades 8 to 12 require an annual fee. Most high schools are boarding schools — which means village children must leave their homes and live at the high school — and most families in the Northern Province cannot afford the school fees. There is very little government assistance to go around so many children are forced to work in the fields and go without an education.
We offer scholarships to as many high school students as we can find donors. Currently we support X students in 10 High Schools in Northern Zambia.
“My mom died of cancer when I was 8 years old, and my dad was HIV infected. I have had to take all the responsibilities of looking after my grandmother whom I was staying with. She had a very serious illness. I have to take care of my sick grandmother while I am going to school. Two years ago my sister who did labor work in the city was injured and nearly lost her life. It was such a disaster that I am too sad to speak about it. All these things happened when I was in grade 6, but here I am in grade 9 with your help. Through you, God’s love reaches those children who are in difficulties and in need like I was before you came to my rescue.”
