25th Anniversary Celebration

ZSF celebrates 25 years of helping schools, students and teachers in Zambia.

Ava, AJ, and Students

Help us make this year a year to remember for the Zambian’s

A Celebration is planned for Thursday November 7th

During the planning of our 25th anniversary Steve Ott (ZSF board member said)

“You know I attended the ZSF 20th anniversary and yes it was wow and amazing. The dancing, the music, the dinner, everything was fun and entertaining but I have to admit when I attended the ZSF Zambian night (held at the library) I was so much more inspired by the travelers who had just returned from Zambia, the letters students and teachers had written to their sponsors, the slide show of the projects ZSF was involved in, it touched my heart so much more and I was hooked.”

How you can help with the celebration

Invite friends and give them a free book

One reason we have been going strong for 25 years is our founders books.

Believe it or not these little gems have touched hearts and introduced people to the Zambian people to the point of after a book is read they reach out to ZSF and want to help.

Help others fall in love with the beautiful Zambian people

This is how it will work

We have 14 wonderful volunteers who have agreed to put a box of books in their garage. Inside each book will be one of these cute invites. You choose as many family members & friends as you like and text one of these volunteers to ask for books. (If you need them to mail them to you, we will need you to pay for the postage)

This will save us a ton of postage and time.

ZAMBIA NIGHT 2024

Hear stories from eight weary travelers who just returned from Zambia.

Hear compelling stories from the students and teachers themselves.

And you will see beautiful slides of the faces of the people whose lives are being changed.

Volunteer work

The following are fun ways you can get involved.

The School to school program

  1. Get your school involved. Our school to school program connects your school with a school in the bush. It’s a fun program to get involved with but remember the ultimate goal is to get sponsors and donors to help students and teachers in Zambia, however you accomplish that is up to you.  Contact AJ Roth 520-609-7325.

Contact a potential donor

  1. We have all the posters and handouts to help you. . .
  2. Put a school bus at your work or school (school bus is a donation collection program, ask Peggy about it)
  3. Put a poster at your doctors office, dentist office, or business
  4. Send Books, DVD’s, pamphlets
  5. Hold a garage sale
  6. Present to clubs, churches, retired teachers assoc. Schools, etc. (All slide shows and power point presentations are available on our google doc.’s)

Send a LOI to a giving foundation

  1. Grant writing and submitting (not as hard as it sounds)

All you do is send a giving foundation a “Letter if Inquiry’ asking for money to build a school, help entrepreneurs get jobs,  pay a teacher’s salary for one year to provide a much needed elementary school with a teacher

All information needed including the letter of Inquiry can be obtained from Tena Allen our grant writing specialist. Tena Allen 801-671-1049 or Tenahallen13@gmail.com

Volunteer to sit at a booth
